Tuesday
Objective: To define and identify Aristotle’s strategies of persuasion and how they fit into the Motivated Sequence
GIPS Lang. Arts Standards Met: 1.2.1, 3.2.2, 4.1,2
Journal topic: --
Review: Today after school is the make-up time for informtive speeches. Review the Motivated Sequence.
Direct Instruction: Aristotle’s Strategies
Guided Practice: Read sample speech and identify Motivated Sequence and Aristotle’s strategies.
Assignment: Bring money and your public library card for research in lab 564.

Wednesday
Objective: To research for persuasive speech using SIRS database.
GIPS Lang. Arts Standards Met: 1.2l1, 2.2.7, 3.2.2, 4.1, 2
Journal topic:  --
Review: Procedures for printing.  Be sure to document source information.
Direct Instruction: How to access SIRS database.  Select KEYWORD search.
Guided Practice: Research using database.
Assignment: Continue researching.  Read and color code articles you printed today.  Meet in lab tomorrow.
