Fifth and Sixth Six Weeks
Vocabulary studies continue for all classes. Periods 1, 2, and 7 are still using the Wordly Wise list, but the lists are now given biweekly. Periods 3 and 8 are now doing SAT vocabulary work.
All classes will study the same grammar information that includes:
adjective and adverb clauses
compound, complex and compound-complex sentences
predicate nominatives and predicate adjectives
transitive and intransitive verbs
pronouns
Writing lessons will focus on writing dialogue, a compare/contrast essay, and a news article relating to mythology. Each student will be required to submit an entry to be considered for the Beck literary magazine. Other writing assignments will be included.
