Due to our very busy days in May our Service Learning trips will end in April. Any changes in dates will be posted here.
February Curriculum Plans
READING: Basal Reader Unit: "Incredible Stories". This will be a wonderful way to introduce our next chapter book Charlotte's Web. The students are enjoying reading biographies and will soon get instructions about a short presentation on their subject.
MATH: We are continuing to review multiplication/division facts. The "sum sense" site that is listed has a great multiplication game that the children have been playing in class. Try this at home! We are completing our unit on larger numbers and decimals.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We are wrapping up our study of the Northeast. The children have enjoyed using atlases, state reference books, and maps to study various northeastern states. They have displayed their new-found knowledge on colorful posters which are displayed in Fry Hall. Next we are off to study the sunny South! The children will be assigned one state to do an "at home" project. Details to follow! A social studies site with a fun game to help recognize state locations has been included. We love this game!
