Students will be required to turn in a half page summary of a news article. The following is the format that must be followed to get full credit on the assignment.

1/2 page summary
Article stapled to the back.
100 points Due the first day of class each week for the next 5 weeks.
Every night your student has homework for this class. Each night your students are to write in their class journal what they learned in class that day. They may also have reading or other homework. This reflection time for your students is a perfect time for you to find out what they are learning. This also gives you a chance to see if they have other homework and if they are getting their work done.

2. Return of AUP and media wavier. 100 points
3. Return of the movie permission slip 100 points
4. Oral presentation of the 50 states. 100 points
5. Poster project- Road to Independence. 100 points

Due to the nature of the internet I would highly suggest parents monitor the use of computers when their students are surfing the web. Only you can ensure your student is not viewing materials you disagree with.
