WELCOME TO THE GOTTLIEB MATH & SCIENCE INFO PAGE! This week in math: Students took the pretest in the computer lab this week and completed their surveying for the graphing project. The graphing project is the assessment for our unit on graphs and statistics and will be completed in class. On Wednesday, students took a quiz on chapter 2; the remainder of the week was devoted to completing the graphing project which was due on Friday 9/21. Any student needing extra time for any reason will need to get a hall pass from me in order to come in to school early (8:15) and complete the work. Next week in math: We will begin working with decimals next week. In fact, we will be working with decimals for several weeks - adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing them. We will begin with adding and subtracting decimals (chapter 3). Then, in chapters 4 and 5, we will move into multiplying and dividing decimals - first with whole numbers and then with other decimals. Math next week will involve a review of decimal place values and comparing and ordering decimals (which is greater: 3.75 or 3.9?). We will practice estimation by rounding decimals and then adding and/or subtracting. By the end of the week, we will be adding and subtracting decimals. This week in science:
