Hello Koalas,

For the week of 2/13, we are starting to explore issues facing Africa today. These issues include famine, poverty, desertification, deforestation, and malaria. The goals for this unit are to identify where these issues take place, what's causing them to occur, and discuss solutions to the problems. We will conclude our journey after vacation.

Homework for the Week of 1/30 Monday:Read pages 526-530 and answer questions 2b, 2c, 3a, and 3b on page 530
Tuesday:Study for the East Africa/Atlantic South America Country Quiz on Thursday
Wednesday:Use the blank map and/or website to study for the East Africa/Atlantic South America Country Quiz

Upcoming Quiz Dates Thursday 2/16: East Africa/Atlantic South America Country Quiz

The Africa Physical Features Book Quiz was returned Monday 2/13...the class average was 85%. Some students had trouble identifying the differences between Humid Tropical climate and Tropical Savanna climate. Therefore, I will conduct an in-class review session this week and devise a quick quiz for kids to requiz the information.
