MONDAY IS An ‘A DAY’
VIRGINIA WORLD GEOGRAPHY SOL We have completed our study of the world and are now preparing for the SOL. To assist you in excelling on your test please go to my SOL Review Site. (See Useful Links below)
SOL TEST DATE
All classes are currently scheduled to take the Virginia World Geography SOL on Thursday and Friday May 20th and 21st.
SOL REMEDIATION
I am currently providing remediation for all students that need additional help. I will be in my classroom before school from 7:45 till 8:15 Monday through Friday. Additionally, I will be available following school till 4:30 Monday through Thursday. Any student that feels that they could benefit from additional review time should attempt to make at least a couple of these sessions.
HOMEWORK Due to our review for the SOL, homework will be passed out daily and will be due the next time the class meets. The review sheets are covering information that students should already know and most students should be able to complete them in around 30 minutes.
QUIZZES/TESTS
All classes will be taking a PRACTICE SOL TEST on Monday or Tuesday this week. This test may not be taken for a higher grade as it is an evaluation tool to see how students are doing in preparation for the SOL.
END 5TH SIX WEEKS GRADING PERIOD Report cards will be sent home late this week and should be signed and returned to school as soon as possible. If you have any questions about grades please contact me.
++ Any student that makes less than 70 on a quiz may study and then ask to retake the quiz for a higher grade. Any student that retakes a quiz will get the higher grade, up to a C.
