Speech Practice At Home

The ultimate goal of speech therapy is to help a child correctly produce speech sounds spontaneously at the conversational level. Homework activities provide opportunities for a child to practice speech in a more natural environment with the encouragement and support of their family. Here are some helpful tips for helping your child to practice producing these words in a fun way!

Use your sounds/words to play the following games:

*Matching Game
*Go-Fish
*Lay out all the cards then hide a seasonal sticker
under one picture; practice saying each word until
you find the hidden sticker.
*Pick 5-10 word cards and make up a story using
the words; tell the story verbally or write the story then read it to someone.
*Hide the picture cards around the house and go on a sound hunt.
*Put pictures around the room then turn off all the lights and play “I spy” with a flashlight.
