Nutrition is a help as to how we wish to live our lives and feel good doing it. It includes not only what foods you eat, but your physical activity, plus the amount of sleep you need. This is a 5 day study. We will keep track of the foods we eat for 5 days, analyze them and decide how we will improve upon them. We will focus on the food pyramid in this unit. We will discover what foods fall into each group and what a serving is.

Day One: Nutrition survey Read pages 89-101 in Foods text Answer questions #1-4 pg 95 and #1-4 & 6 pg 101 Video on the Food Pyramid (in class) Keep track of foods you eat (hand out) Collect 10 food labels-bring in entire box Day Two: Nutrition notes Enter foods you have eaten--computers Complete this on your own for the next 3 days Day Three: Complete on-line survey regarding food diary Review nutrition terms on flashcards Test will be on 5th day
