Welcome to Hemet Unified's Power Teaching Professional Development page!
Power Teachers of Southern California is a grass roots education reform organization founded in 1999 by three educators: Chris Biffle, philosophy professor at Crafton Hills College, Jay Vanderfin, instructor at Mentone Elementary School and Chris Rekstad, instructor at Valley Elementary School. Over 4,000 educators representing over 150,000 students have attended free Power Teaching conferences. Power Teaching videos have been viewed by thousands of educators around the world.
Earning Hemet Unified professional development credit using Power Teaching videos is simple.
1. To view a video, click on one of the titles listed in "Useful Links" below.
2. Return to this page and take a quiz on the video under "Quia Activities". (The quiz is a combination of multiple choice, true/false and short essay questions. You can take the quiz as many times as you wish.)
3. When you've completed the quiz, click "done" and the computer will grade the multiple choice and true false questions.
4. Print out the computer graded quiz; turn in the print out as part of your professional development assignment.
The suggested amount of professional development credit is listed after each video link below.
