Welcome to Mrs. Herrmann's Sports Marketing Web Page.  This is for first year sports marketing non-coop students.

December 3-7

We will continue with the unit on college and amateur sports.  You should have your notebook with plenty of paper each class block. Expect a quiz or test by the end of the week.

All Team Branding projects are due to present on Monday December 3rd.  Be sure each group member has a copy of the project, as absent members who have the report is not an excuse to not present.  Professional Dress will provide the group an extra incentive grade.  You may also dress up on Wednesday in case we do not get through all the presentations on Monday.

Don't forget our Christmas Family.  Please donate $10 for the 5 members so they can enjoy the holiday season.  Your generousity is greatly appreciated.  Anyone wishing to assist in shopping and delivery can see me.  We will bring the gifts to the family Saturday December 15....it could change your life.

Field Trip money is also due this week. $55 to DRHS.  This covers your transportation, ticket to the Capitals game, a light dinner.  Don't miss out on a day at Potomac Mills and the Capitals game...a ton and fun and marketin applications for all.  Parents are welcome.

Week of November 30th
We will begin a unit on Collegiate and Professional Sports.

Team Branding Projects are due Monday December 3rd.  This is a major assessment the written and oral presentations are due this day.  If any team member is absent arrangements must be made for the entire project to be complete.  I would suggest each student have a copy of the entire presentation and paper do not rely on one person to have the entire project and then his/her computer crashes or they are absent.  You each will be held accountable.

Player profiles, stat reports should be turned in through week 11. Week 12 is due Friday.

If you were absent on Wednesday November 21st you missed a quiz.  Make arrangements before Friday to make this up in extended study this week.

If you were absent Friday November 16th you have a Wall Street Journal Assignment to make up.  This must be completed by Friday November 30th.

November 9th update.

All week 9 player profiles and stats reports are due today.  Week 10 line-ups are due as well.

Team Branding projects will be due Monday November 19th.  All presentations will begin that day if team members are absent you may still be required to present; be sure all members have copies of the power points and the written project.  This will be 2 test grades- make them great.  The assignment is in my share folder.  The rubric will be distributed next week.

We have a guest speaker on Monday.  It is also professional dress day.  Get your extra credit points.

Your notebook should be up to date and include your class guidelines, blueprint, outline, all notes, handouts, classwork, player profiles, stats, and line ups.  I will check these for a grade this coming week.  There will be no make up opportunities for this grade.  Be prepared, it should be with you each day.

2 sports related magazines were to be with you in class on Friday.  You will be given one more chance to bring them on Monday and Wednesday(as we have the guest speaker in the auditorium).  This is also a grade so do not forget again.

Your team uniform draft and promotional products should have been turned in to me today, Friday Nov. 9th.  If you are printing them at home, you may bring the final copies to me on Monday.  If this is the case for your team, I should have that in writing today.

Next week we will continue with work on the Sports and Entertainment industries as well as branding information.

Hall passes will be prohibited next week due to the abuse on Friday.  You may never leave the room without my direct permission. Walking out of class without my permission is not acceptable and will be treating as skipping.  Review your class guidelines.  Take care of your business before class.
