First Grade May 11-15, 2009 Week 35
Notes & Reminders:
1. Thanks to all who helped out with our InstaGator field trip. It was enjoyed by all!
2. Parents Day Picnic is Thursday, May 14th. Please join First Grade for a picnic lunch from 11:00 to 12:30 in the grassy area next to PreK. If your child eats lunch provided by the cafeteria, he/she will be served breakfast instead of lunch that morning. Please pack a picnic lunch for yourself and your child. Remember to make arrangements for any siblings. Thanks!
3. Please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope (postage will go up to 44 cents before the end of school) to mail your child’s final report card.
4. END OF THE YEAR NEWS:
a. This will be the last week of testing.
b. Dismissal for May 21st and 22nd is 11:30.
c. Buses will run on May 21st ONLY.
d. Last day for Aftercare is May 20th.
e. Remember to return all library books.
f. Check online for any unpaid or overpaid balance with the cafeteria.

Monday:
Reading: Reread “Where Has Freddy Gone Now?” Read and orally use each vocabulary word in a sentence.
Spelling: Read, say, write spellings words in journal 2 x’s.
Math: Complete pg. pages 433-434 (omit #4) in blue folder to review for quiz tomorrow.
Religion: Practice praying the Hail Mary for oral test Friday.
Tuesday:
Reading: Reread “Dot and Jabber” and share your illustration with someone. Review vocabulary words.
Spelling: Write a sentence using two spelling words.
Religion: Practice praying the Hail Mary for oral test Friday.
Wednesday:
Reading: Reread “Dot and Jabber” and orally answer questions 1 & 2. Time yourself reading your vocabulary words.
Spelling: Take a practice spelling test orally.
Math: Complete page 140 front and back in homework book.
Religion: Practice praying the Hail Mary for oral test Friday.
Thursday:
Reading: Reread “Dot and Jabber” and orally answer questions 3 & 4 as a review for tomorrow’s test.
Spelling: Orally spell your words as a review for tomorrow’s test.
Math: Complete page 141 front and back in homework book.
Religion: Practice praying the Hail Mary for oral test tomorrow.
