Home Note First Grade February 13-17, 2012 Week 24 Notes & Reminders: 1. REMINDER: Mrs. L’s class will be doing prayer and pledge at assembly this week. On the day that your child is reading, please be sure to have him or her in the gym by 7:20. 2. HGS New Family Registration for 2012-2013 begins Monday, Feb. 13th at 5:00 a. m. If you know of any new prospective families who would like to tour our school, please have them call the office. Thanks! 3. Reminder: President’s Day Parade is Thursday in the gym. Festivities begin at 8:15. Children are to come dressed in their costume on this day. Please send their uniform/shoes in a bag labeled with their name. 4. Thanks for the boxes of tissues. We have collected about 20 boxes. We still have plenty of noses to wipe. 5. Please remember to have your child bring in his/her Valentine’s Day cards on Tuesday. Also, have your child sign the cards and not address it to individual students. You may send in individually wrapped candy if you wish. Reading: Play a game of “battle” with your parents, using your vocabulary words. Review High Frequency words #96-100. Reread “Meet Ben Franklin” and orally answer questions 3 and 4. Spelling: Using your finger, table top say and write the spelling words. Language: Complete activity sheet pg. 181. Wednesday: Math: Complete pg. 96 front and back in homework book. Remember to practice addition facts. Reading: Orally weave a story using the vocabulary words. Review High Frequency words for test Thursday. Reread “Meet Ben Franklin” using expression. Spelling: Skywrite the spelling words. Write the troubled words 2 times in journal. Language: Complete activity sheet pg. 10 for quiz tomorrow.
