First Grade December 7-11, 2009 Week 16
Notes & Reminders:
1. Remember – First grade will present “The Night Before Christmas” on Thursday, December 17th from 12:00 to 1:00 in the gym.
2. We are in need of some small artificial Christmas trees to add to our scenery for the skit. If you have any that we can borrow for the day please contact your child’s teacher.
3. Please continue to practice addition and subtraction facts
4. Mass has been changed to Tuesday this week for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

Spelling Words:
whip, whale, when, which, catch, match, switch, chin, chase, chop, want
Vocabulary Words:
our, again, would, your, light, change, moves, earth, shadow
Homework Schedule:
Monday
Math: Review pages 201-202 in blue folder for test tomorrow.
Reading: Read and orally use each vocabulary word in a sentence. Review High Frequency words #66-70 for oral test Thursday.
Spelling: Sound out and finger spell your words in your palm. Sight words must be memorized.
Language: Complete and return workbook page 66.
Tuesday
Reading: Review vocabulary trouble words. Reread “Light Game” and “Short Shadows, Long Shadows”. Review High Frequency words #66-70.
Spelling: Write words 2x each in journal; sight words in red. Remember to write a sentence! Highlight the diagraph in each word.
Language: Complete grammar workbook pg. 70 and return.
Wednesday
Math: Complete pg. 64 front and back in homework book.
Reading: Replay Dice Game with an adult. Reread “Short Shadows, Long Shadows” and orally answer #1 & 2. Review High Frequency words for oral test tomorrow.
Spelling: Alphabetize spelling words in journal.
Thursday
Math: Complete pg. 65 front and back in homework book.
Reading: Review vocabulary words and share your cards with an adult.
Spelling: Take a practice spelling test. Have an adult dictate a sentence for you to write.
Language-Complete workbook pg. 76 and return.
