        Krewe of Angels Newsletter MERRY CHRISTMAS! Dec. 14-18,2009 Dear Parents, Countdown to Christmas! Polar Express Day is this Thursday. I know the children will love this. Refer to my note sent home last week for more information. Remember to wear pajamas, robes, slippers and bring sleeping bags & pillows in a labeled bag. One more exciting note! Our class has almost reached our 100% AR class goal! We’re working very hard to help every student to reach success! AR testing ends on Friday, along with the 2nd 9 weeks. IMPORTANT NOTES: **12/15, Tuesday—Mass at 8:00 a.m. Note change of day. **12/16, Wed.—students who received a free dress coupon from the superintendent’s office may wear free dress today. **12/17, Thurs.—Polar Express Day—wear your pj’s! **12/18, Fri.—1/2 day dismissal at 11:30. This day ends the 2nd 9 weeks. This is Spirit Dress Day for all students. Also a special breakfast will be served in the cafeteria at 10:00 of cinnamon rolls, fruit and milk or juice. There will be no regular lunch today because of early dismissal. **12/19-1/3—Happy Holidays! **1/4, Mon.—school resumes TESTS: **No tests in Reading, Spelling and English this week. We will be reading Christmas literature and doing related activities (HO-HO-HO!) 12/15, Tues.—Social Studies Test-Unit 6 12/16,Wed.—Math test: chapter 5 and Religion Test: chapter 8 HOMEWORK: Mon, 12/14: Math—WB 63, practice double-digit addition with regrouping for test Wed. Social Studies—study guide for test tomorrow. Religion—study guide for chapter 8 test Wed. Tues., 12/15: Math—do pages 207-208 in folder to review for test tomorrow Religion—study guide on chapter 8 for test tomorrow Wed., 12/16: Bring pajamas, sleeping bag, pillow, and ONE small stuffed animal (optional) in a labeled bag for Polar Express Day tomorrow. Bring book bags. Thurs., 12/17: NO Homework Day—a Christmas gift to you from Mrs. Jenny! SKILLS: Reading: Christmas literature and “Polar Express” Math: double-digit addition with and without regrouping Social Studies: unit 6-People and places in history Religion: Advent preparation & Ch.8-“We Learn about God’s Love” Handwriting: last week of manuscript letter practice! We will begin script when we return for the holidays. (Please wait for me to teach your child script letters according to our book format before you begin practicing.)
