Happy Valentine's Day to all!!!!!! What we are learning: Reading: In whole group we will be reading the big book In the Yard. We will be working on phoneme isolation, blending, and segmentation. We will be listening for the initial sound /b/ and our new high-frequency for this week are and & do. For comprehension, we will be identifying the main idea and details in a story. In small groups, we will continue reading short sentences and stories, flashing high-frequency words, etc. according to each child’s level. **Practice high frequency words: I, can, we, the, like, a, see, go, to, is, play, are, for, you, this, do, and, what, little, & said** Spelling: Our words for this week are: sit, bit, clip, hip, fix, drip, on, as, are, & was. We will be using the Promethean Board, playing a variety of games, and writing them. We will take our Spell Check on Friday. Handwriting: We will be concentrating on writing the letters Ww and Xx using correct formation and spacing. Religion: Our Bible story for the week is the Good Samaritan. We LOVE this story. Our Bible verse for this week is: Jesus said, "Take this and share it.” Luke 22:17. We will learn that Jesus shared a special meal with his friends and He shares himself with us, too. Our Safe & Caring Schools lesson will focus on how we care for each other. Math: We will continue to work on geometry. We will identify halves and fourths of a whole & solve problems involving equal shares. We are sooooooooo smart! Social Living: Love is in the air!!!!!!!! We will celebrate Saint Valentine's Day all week. We will read lots of valentine stories and participate in valentine activities. . HOMEWORK: * Nightly review Days of the Week and Months of the Year M – Spelling – Write words one time each Reading - Little Readers and review high frequency words T – Spelling – Complete Word Boxes Happy Valentine’s Day – Share some love with your family.
