REMINDERS:
1. 3rd grade "Reading Celebration" is Friday May 16th, 5-9 p.m.. PLEASE COME AND HAVE A GREAT TIME WITH ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS AND TEACHERS!
2. Please return permission slip for field trip to the Columbia. This was due today and there are still many missing. This is a walking field trip, therefore no chaperones will be needed. The field trip is this Friday, May 16th. Students must wear their school uniform for this field trip.
3. Free Dress Day for our AR 100% goal for this nine weeks will be held on Thursday for third grade due to our field trip on Friday.
4. If your child is eligible for the end of the year AR 100% Movie Day please remember to send in your $2.00 by Wednesday, May 14th. The Movie Day will be held this Friday, May 16th in the afternoon. It will not interfer with the field trip they are at different times of the day.
5. May crowning will be held on Wednesday, May 14th at 8:15 A.M. in church. This is an all school celebration, please send your child with his/her rosary that day.
DAILY ASSIGNMENTS AND TESTS:
READING: We will be testing on , "Poppa's New Pants" on Tuesday, May 13th. Please read the story and study the vocabulary as needed. The comprehension skills covered are making predictions and following directions. A book report will follow the reading of a chapter book during AR time. We will begin these in class to be finished with your supervision at home. WE will begin these in class on Wednesday, May 14th and they will be due back to us for a grade on Tuesday, May 20th.
VOCABULARY: draped, mended, hem, fabric, pattern, plaid, rustling
SPELLING: Study List #31 nightly, write words 3 times each on looseleaf in cursive to be turned in on Friday, May 16th. The FINAL spelling Test for this year will be on Tuesday May, 20th. List # 30 Test will be Tuesday, May 13th.
LIST # 30: altar, belief, catalog, diary, false, true, gospel, helmet, inform, justice, kangaroo, listen, movie, number, overall, parade, replace, secret, trace, witness

ENGLISH: We will begin prepositions tomorrow. Practice prepostion jingle nightly and begin reviewing the different prepositions nightly.
MATH: We We will be continuing with the steps for long division. Please study the flow map which show these steps nightly. It is located in their math folders. Please ask your child to tell you what, "Does McDonalds Sell Cheese Burgers on Saturday" means. This is a very important part of long division. MAth Test will be on Thursday, May 15th.
RELIGION: Continue to Study Ch. 4 "The Church Begins" highlighting nightly, also tree map on the Easter season. Ch. 4 Test will be on Thursday May 15th. May is the month we honor Mary by praying the rosary. Remember that the family who prays together stays together. Join as a family in prayer petitioning Mother Mary for her intercession.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Be on the look out for Morgan Money!!! Ask your children what it is and what they can do with it? Hopefully it will help them understand not only a little bit more about money, but maybe even a little more about responsibilty. We will be finishing the year with Unit 4, Louisiana's Economy. This includes chapters 7 & 8. Our final Social Studies test will be on Friday, May 16th. Please review the lessons we cover in class with your child at night and begin to revie the study guide when you receive it on Tuesday, May 13th.
