Advent is the first season of the liturgical year.  The word "Advent" means coming.  Each year during Advent we prepare to celebrate the first coming of the Son of God.  We prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas.  All rejoice that Jesus is our Savior and is sent to save us from sin.  God's people waited many, many years for the Savior to come.  The prophets told the people how to prepare for our Savior.  This is a time to pray, seek God's forgiveness, and work for peace as we wait and watch for the Son of God to come again.  Thus, we are preparing for the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Thursday -  No assignment
Friday -  Happy and Safe Holidays!!!

Thought for the Week:  Here I am!  I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me!  I open the door of my heart now Lord, so that You may come in and dwell in me.  Thank You for the assurance of my salvation through Christ.  Amen.
