Each year during Advent we prepare to celebrate the first coming of the Son of God. We prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas. All rejoice that Jesus is our Savior and is sent to save us from sin. God's people waited many, many years for the Savior to come. The prophets told the people how to prepare for our Savior. This is a time to pray, seek God's forgiveness, and work for peace as we wait and watch for the Son of God to come again. Thus, we are preparing for the second coming of Jesus Christ. 5th and 6th Grade Assignments: Over the next three weeks we will be studying Chapters 12, 13, and 14. These relate to prayer, Advent, and the Christmas Season. We will also be praying the "Morning Offering and the Advent Prayer" daily in class. Review these prayers nightly. An oral quiz on these two prayers will be given just before the Christmas holidays. Monday - Study "Advent Facts" sheet for a test tomorrow. Also review the "Morning Offering" and "Advent" prayers for an oral quiz on Wednesday. Bring an AR book to class tomorrow to read. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me! I open the door of my heart now Lord, so that You may come in and dwell in me. Thank You for the assurance of my salvation through Christ. Amen.
