SCHOOL IS OUT FOR SUMMER!!!!! FLEXIBLE GROUP **PLEASE SIGN YOUR CHILD'S FOLDER EVERY NIGHT.** Kindergarten Intervention is a resource that is very beneficial for children who may need small group or one on one time. We work on different skills throughout the year. We start off with letter and sound recognition, move on to beginning and ending sounds, and also work on rhyming. All of these skills help us build a background so that we are ready to read. There are many ways you can work at home with your child on these skills. Ask your child to identify letters/sounds around the house, for example, the cover of a magazine, magnetic letters, or even on a box of cereal in the morning. Also, as you are driving down the road, ask them to spell out road signs or say a word such as "cat" and ask them what it rhymes with. Teachers and parents working together help our children show their full potential. If you have any questions, feel free to call or email me. _____________________________________________________________ Hillary Hawkins _____________________________________________________________ [Title IX contact: Title IX Coordinator, 812 Thompson Drive, Abingdon, VA 24210--- 276-739-3115] |
