The American Revolution Project

Each student is required to do one project. Students may work together
as long as everyone helps prepare and present the project. If you want to
use the Internet to find information or pictures, go to this web page at
http://www.quia.com/pages/hostetterevolution.html


*Write a two page report, create a video, or act out a 5 minute skit on
any of the following people: Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Samuel
Adams, John Hancock, George Washington, John Adams, Abigail Adams, Marquis
de Lafayette, Deborah Sampson, Molly Pitcher, Benedict Arnold, or Patrick
Henry.
*Design a game for students to play in which they learn about the events
and people of the American Revolution.
*Make a flow chart showing the causes and effects of the American
Revolution.
*Write a song or poem that has words talking either about an important
event or person.
*Create a timeline that shows the events from the Boston Massacre in 1770
to Cornwallis’ surrender in 1781.
*Make a map showing the major battles and who won them
*Draw a picture that would show the belief that all people are created
equal, deserve the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
*Act one of these: Boston Massacre, Boston Tea Party, or Valley Forge.
*Have a debate about if we were wise to break away from England. What
were the pros and cons.
*Produce a play that would show the events of the American Revolution.
*Read a book about the American Revolution and write a one page summary of
the book and what you learned about the American Revolution.
*Pretend you were one of the colonist soldiers, write a diary of your
experiences.
*If you were a British soldier, write about how you viewed the Americans
and their desire for independence.
*Create your own one page Declaration of Independence giving reasons why
Virginia should be independent of the USA.
*Make your own one page petition giving reasons why the US government
should do away with taxes.
*Be a news reporter and talk to one of the colonist and British soldiers
during the American Revolution.
*Create a comic of the American Revolution.
*Do a PowerPoint presentation that shows an event or person of the
American Revolution.
