Tareas
1. Online Assignment and Extra Credit Submission Schedule
2. Go to the Main Profile Page and under Surveys open the following SPAN 2002 General Information Survey - Summer III, 2011.
Complete and submit the survey no later than June 9, 2011.
3. Culture Project. Working in groups of 4 persons you will prepare an illustrated oral presentation on the some aspect or aspects of the culture of Perú, Bolivia, Ecuador, Argentina or Chile. The project will be presented to the class towards the end of the session. (See Full Version of the SPAN 2002 Course Outline - Full Version
for details of the project.) You need to form your groups by Friday, June 10, 2011 and decide on what aspects of the culture you wish to focus. As part of the planning each group will prepare a proposal and submit it by June 16, 2011. Use the following form for the submission of the proposal.

4. Composition - Posted June 6, 2011
On June 27 you will be writing a composition of 150 words in class. (See the SPAN 2002 Course Outline - Full Version
for details.) The topic of your composition will be "La tecnología en nuestra vida." In preparing your draft you may want to consider the folowing:
- What kinds of technology devices are used?
- How has technology changed the way of life for you, for your family, for your community, for the country, for the world?
- How has technology affected the quality of life?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of using modern technology?
- How do you see things changing in the future?
- Express your hope for what you would like to see take place in the next ten years.

6. Prepare for the verb forms test that will be done on Thursday, June 8. Use the materials in the Recursos section of the class page to review and the Practice Test that is in the Quiz section of the Profile Page to get ready.
7. Study the vocabulary of pages 384 and 387 and prepare Ex. A, B, C and D of pages 385 - 386 and Ex. A, B and C of Pg 388. Study the Forms of the Present Subjunctive on pages 396 - 397 of your textbook.
8. Go to the Main Profile Page and under "Quizzes", open the quiz "SPAN 2002 - Verb Meaning Quiz - Summer III 2011."
Do the quiz 4 times for warm-up and review. These should be genuine "good-faith" attempts. Make every attempt a good one!
Repeat the quiz at least 1 more time . (You may continue repeating it as many times as you wish.)
The last attempt (after the warm-up) will be counted as your grade for this quiz. If you do not complete the quiz the minimum number of times, your grade will be 50% of the last attempt.

9. Write a paragraph about ONE of Guadalupe and Jesús. You may use the details discussed in class or include any details of your own. Your paragraph should have verbs in the present as well as verbs in the past. It should also include some of the vocabulary of capítulo 12. Carefully check your spelling and grammar. Get help if necessary. Type the paragraph neatly in 12 font, double-spaced. Save your file. Hand in a copy of your paragraph at the beginning of class on Monday, June 12, 2011.

13. Rewrite your paragraph on Guadalupe and Jesús (See 9, above.) based on the corrections / suggestions made to your first draft. Then, go to the link below and use the recorder provided to make an oral recording in Spanish of the revised paragraph. Speak loudly and clearly to ensure that you get a good recording. Pay attention to pronunciation, linking and stress.

You will hand hand in the following: (a) Five sentences using the information of Ex. A, Paso 1; (b) a short paragraph in response to ONE of the situations of Ex. B, Paso 1; and (c) Five sentences using the material of Ex. C, Paso 1.
Type your work, double spaced. Be sure to type the accents and other special characters. Pay paricular attention to the verb forms. Spell them correctly. Hand in this assignment at the beginning of class on Monday, June 20, 2011.

20. Below are three files. the first is a video on Spanish food and includes shows how to make a "tortilla española." The second is a transcript of the entire video. (you may print it to follow as you watch the video. The third file contains some practice exercises. Play the video and do as many of the exercises as you can. Pay attention to the vocabulary and the commands.

21. Prepare exercises A and B and C on pages 404 - 405 of your textbook. Clearly write out by hand the passage of Exercise B, filling in the correct form of the missing words. Clearly number, underline and highlight the answers that you provide. Write on every other line using a blue pen. Hand in this written assignment at the beginning of class on Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Remember that this is an individual assignment, NOT A GROUP ASSIGNMENT.

26. Type your "List of four consejos to your profesor / profesores" and your List of five consejos to your friend, relative, etc." and bring your lists to class on Wednesday, June 22. Doublespace. Keep the two lists separate and give each a heading. Make sure that each consejo clearly indicates to whom it is addressed. Save a copy of your work.
Revise your lists, as necessary. Then go to Casillero to make a recording of your lists. Clearly indicate in your recording the headings of your two lists..
