What are some of the important diseases of our time? Read a story about a young man with a rare disease called ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) or Lou Gehrig's disease. Do the exercises. Write something on the web page about what you think about the article (show and tell) and read what other people say about it. Go to the boy's web site and find out more about him. Go to an ALS web site and find out more about it. Find out about the man that made the disease famous, Lou Gehrig, a great baseball player in the 1920's and 30's. Finally, go and see what are the leading causes of death for different age groups in the USA (click on submit request). You can change the intructions and look for the top 20 causes of death also.
