Greetings, I look forward to meeting and working with all of my new students this year. I have an exciting year planned for Art class. This year’s theme in Art is “It’s All About You”. All projects are autobiographical in nature. Students will work with a variety of media and subject matter spanning marker drawings, clay self-portrait sculptures, autobiographical cloth bound books, and pencil portrait drawings. The purpose of the autobiographical projects is to enable me to get to know my students and for the students to learn more about each other. I look forward to a great year, Mrs. O'Patick-Ollis Art Class Procedures Students are expected to abide by the following rules: 1. Arrive on time with required materials. 2. Remain seated and work consistently throughout class. 3. Be respectful. Do not talk when the teacher or a classmate is speaking to the class. Be respectful of other’s property. 4. Remain on task and do not disrupt class. 5. Clean up daily. Conduct Policy: Offenses Consequences 4 motivators 2 lunch detentions 8 motivators 5 lunch detentions 12 motivators 1 day In School Suspension A motivator is a writing assignment that is given when a student breaks a class rule. A notation will be made in the student’s Tracker if a motivator has been assigned. All writing assignments are to be completed and returned to the teacher the following school day. The writing assignment must be accompanied by a signed copy of the Art Motivator form that details the student's inappropriate behavior. Homework Policy A portion of each student's grade is based on effort. As a general rule, there is no homework given in Art class because students will not have the materials or information necessary to complete the assignments at home. However, if a student misses school, he/she will be given a homework assignment for each day missed in order to make up points that count towards the effort grade.
