You are going to complete the BBC Web Wise course and get a certificate for this as well as a credit for your Access certificate! It is good fun and you will learn the basics of what the Internet can and cannot do.

Click on the link second to the bottom of the Useful Links -this will get you straight into the site.

When you are ready - and I mean confident, click on the last link to take the final official test - you will need a password from William.

To complete this unit and get a level 2 pass you must have completed all of the following:

1. the official BBC Becoming Web Wise test
2. print outs of the mini quizzes
3. From Trip 1 - print out one case study from the extras option
4. From Trips 2 to 8 print out the Extras option
5. You must send and print out e-mails to me. The messages must be work related and some should include attachments. These attachments must include text and graphics (pictures). You must keep an address book and manage your e-mails into folders. These must be printed out as evidence.

By the way HMI's are in Colege the week beginning 11th November.

What does this mean for you?

1. They may well speak to you and ask questions about the course and the work you are doing - they want to see that you understand what you are doing and are learning something!
2. They will want to look at your files - try and get some order into these - any problems- just let me know.
3. Most of the time they will sit at the back of the room, say nothing and are usually busy filling in forms - it is very unusual for them to directly take part in class activities.

11th Nov. Dolgellau/15th Nov. Pwllheli - You need to print out all those sheets above for the Web Wise course - also a front sheet/sheet a/sheet b/unit descriptor - before you start on Bare Bones - 5th down below.

Bare Bones is interesting - it takes you a stage beyond BBC Web Wise and hopefully you will be able to search expertly after this tutorial.

What do I need as evidence from these tutorials?

There are short assignments at the end of each tutorial - print outs of the pages here are essential.

The idea is that each tutorial is short and sweet - it took me about 3 hours to do this - most will take longer so the very maximum would be 3 lessons even for beginers. If you are taking longer you are daydreaming!!!!
