What is working class america , why do some people chose to live like this and why are some so oposed to liveing in poverty America prides itself on being the most free and equal nation in the world yet, in truth, this country is not a symbol of freedom, but of oppression. Poverty is the greatest illustration of this, for it shows the true source of American freedom: wealth. In America one is only as free as one can afford. In the United States freedom, opportunity, and respect all have a direct correlation with wealth. bike messengers in america have always ben thought as being the lowest form of workers in america , thare are many other types of careres that are much more poverty stricken. working class america are people who who strugle through life and no matter how hard they try most of the time they tend to stay below the american standerd of liveing people who live at the poverty levle tend to also work as day workers, working one day at a time hopeing to be able to work the next day, others work all hours of the day at or below minimum wage strugleing to survive, also alot of these people live on the streets or at goverment housing , people in this state of liveing also alot of the time live in and around the same ares, about half of "poor" households. Loss of utilities conciter Suicide, have food shortages, live in overfull homes, lack of acces to telephones, children are also more likely to become teen perents, drop out of school and are also more likely to suffer from drug and alcohol abuse. Working class americans who strugle through life are all over and they always will be untle the U.S.A can provide more substancal help with dealing with "real life" problams. people who live in poverty also tend to commit crime and end up in one of americas allready over populated prisons. over half of america lives on less than $ 2.00 a day , nearly a billion people entred the 21st centry unable to read or write. Poverty is a global problem, and it has existed from the beginning of civilization. Hunger, homelessness, and lack of health care are major aspects of this world-wide problam. In the United States of America, a land of plenty, there are also pockets of extreme poverty. Governments around theworld are trying to solve this huge problem with little progress. Third world poverty and Appalachian poverty, which occurred in the United States of America, have developed for various reasons, and these situations have led to a great deal of problems. Throughout the world, poverty has plagued all countries. In smaller,under-developed countries many people die from starvation. These countries can not afford to support their citizens. Due to their financial problems, the people lack proper shelter and clothing to keep themselves warm during cold months. Since they lack adequate shelter and clothing, diseases occurall over. These diseases develop a lot easier with poor nutrition. Onceagain with more financial problems, health care is limited to none. Lawrence Senesh, the contributor of "Poverty as a Social Problem" fromWorld Book, says poverty is usually caused by the difficulty in holding andeven getting a job. a good book about poverty is the immortal class , it is a book based around a bike messenger ... then book expalins his strugl through life, all the maim person wants to do is live but he has to wory about ware he is going to live , what he is going to eat all after a hard days work . in my eyes nothing can stop poverty and it will always be a problam around the world , we just have to try to help people more insted of segragateing them . i was un able to print from my comp. so i had to put my reviews on my page “Jamaican music” This paper describes the primary music or Jamaican culture, it also tells about the tragic death of one of the most famous musicians ever to live. Bob marley. It also tells about how reggae came to be, it started as “ska”, and then changed after many years into what it is now. “Surf culture” It says that in Hawaii, and California Surfing is an important part of there culture, surfers talk and act different than “normal people “ because to them surfing is like a religion, the “surf culture” started in the 1700’s when Polynesians cut down trees to use as a kind of boat to ride the waves in after fishing “Mafia and entertainment” This page talks about the stereotypes of Italian people in movies, it shows stereotypes such as mass drinking, shootings, and other sorts of crime Colombians, are always shown as involved in the drug trade, he says that This just perpetuates the common stereotype in America that South Americans are all drug dealers. he also states many other stereotypes about other races and cultures
