Success in This Rap Game My hero is Jay-z. Shawn Corey Carter a.k.a. Jay-z actually did have a " Hard Knock Life". Born December 4th 1969, in Brooklyn New York a bad neiborhood. Growing up around gangs, he could have easily joined them and messed up his life. In my eyes he is what holds the rap game together. Living in Brooklyn as a hustler it was hard for Jay-z to do the things that he did. He started his own record label named Roc-A-Fella, he came out with 6 CD’s within the last 6 years, and signed rappers like Amil, Beanie. Jazz, and Memphis Bleek. Before he was a teen his father left home, and that left him to make decisions that a father should help with. After that, he turned to the streets to raise him. There he made a name for himself called the Fledging Rapper. People called him Jazzy and he shortened it to Jay-z. He was trying as hard as he could to be a successful Rapper. Jay-z is my hero because what he does and what he accomplished. He has been through hard times like growing up around bad neighborhoods. He is my hero because he recorded six CDs in six years. He also made his own record label. He is my hero because he sent a large amount of money to the people in New York because that was where he was born. He is my hero because of what he made of himself and that gives me hope because I grew up in a bad neighborhood, I can have better goals for myself. Jay-z will always be my favorite Rapper and I will never forget him. To me he is a legend. He will always be remembered that he came up from gangs and drugs. He is a successful Rapper now. Long live Jay-z.
