Note: Please remember that all assignments (including labs) are due at the beginning of class on the due date. Any work turned in after class has started will have a 5% deduction from your score (you may be asked to leave the room if we are discussing work that you have not completed). Any work turned in, or tests not taken without prior arrangements, more than one school-day late will receive a 0% score. Online tests, when announced in the class page, will be opened only for the time period specified.

Day 1 through 6:
*Read chapters 1 "Heat and Pressure", 2 "Matter and Energy" 3 (up to 3.19) Refrigeration and Refrigerants" in the refrigeration textbook.
*Complete the Review Test Questions in the Lab Manual for chapters 1,2 and 3 (up to 3.19) Due on Day 6.
*Discussions and demonstrations for chapters 1-3.19.

Day 6:
*Review for test on chapters 1-3.19.
*Review Test Questions due (1,2 and 3 to 3.19).

Day 7:
*Test on chapters 1-3.19.

Day 8 Through 11:
*Read chapters 4 "General Safety Practices", 5 "Tools and Equipment" and 6 "Fasteners" in the refrigeration textbook.
*Complete Review Test Questions in the Lab Manual for chapters 4, 5 and 6 (Due on day 11).
*Discussions and demonstrations on chapters 4, 5 and 6.
*Tool Check (YOU MUST HAVE ALL OF YOUR TOOLS STARTING ON DAY 9 TO PROCEED FURTHER IN THE CLASS!!!).
*Complete Online Shop Safety Test (see link below).

Day 11:
*Review for tests on chapters 4, 5 and 6.
*Review Test Questions for chapters 4, 5 and 6 are due.

Day 12:
*Tests on chapters 4, 5 and 6.

Day 13 through 14:
*Read chapter 9 "Refrigerant and Oil Chemistry and Management - Recovery, Recycling, Reclaiming and Retrofitting" in the refrigeration textbook.
*Complete Review Test Questions for chapter 9 (Due on day 14).
*Complete Lab 9-1"Refrigerant Recovery" in Lab Manual (Due on day15).
*Discussions and demonstrations on chapter 9.

Day 14:
*Review for test on chapter 9.
*Chapter 9 Review Test Question due.

Day 15:
*Test on chapter 9.
*Lab 9-1 due.

Day 16 through 19:
*Read chapters 17"Types of Electric Motors" and 18 "Application of Motors" in the refrigeration textbook.
*Discussions and demonstration on chapter 17 and 18 and labs.
*Complete Review Test Questions in Lab Manual for chapters 17 and 18 (Due on day 19).
*Complete Labs 17-1, "Identification of Electric Motors", 17-2 "Compressor Winding Identification", 18-1 "Motor Application and Features" in the Lab Manual (Due on day 20).

Day 19:
*Review for tests on chapters 17 and 18.
*Review Test Question on 17 and 18 due.

Day 20:
*Test on chapter 17 and 18.
*Labs 17-1, 17-2, 18-1 are due.

Day 21 Through 23:
*Read chapters 19 "Motor Controls" and 20 "Troubleshooting Electric Motors" in the refrigeration textbook.
*Discussion and demostrations on chapters 19 and 20 and labs.
*Complete Review Test Question on chapters 19 and 20 in the Lab Manual (Due on day 23).
*Complete Labs 19-1 "Identification of a Relay, Contactor, and Starter", 20-1 "Belt-Drive Motors" and 20-2 "Examination of a Hermetic Compressor" (Due day 24).

Day 23:
*Review for tests on chapters 19 and 20.
*Review Test Questions for chapters 19 and 20 due.

Day 24:
* Tests on chapter 19 and 20.
*Labs 19-1, 20-1 and 20-2 due.
