Week of August 25-28
Tuesday- In Class: Welcome! Today we went over the First Day Parent Letter (Notebook #1) and the "Everything I Need to Know" handout. We did the "Get to know each other" Activity and then the Metric Box Lab (NB#2)Homework: Get info sheet signed
Wednesday- In Class: Today we finished "Everything I Need to Know" and the "Get to know each other" activity. We went over the Metric Box Lab. We began the Scientific Method handout (NB#3) with the Intro Material PowerPoint . Then we begain the Graphs worksheet (NB#4) Homework: Get info sheet signed if needed, complete the Scientific Method handout and the Graphs handout, Intro Quiz Friday.
Thursday- In Class: We started with a review of Independent and dependent variables, Then we went over the homework on the Scientific Method handout (NB#3). Next we viewed the Graphing slides and went over the homework portion of the graphing worksheet. We created a pie graph of data on shirt colors. Lastly we practiced conversions (NB#5). Homework: Complete the Conversions handout and study for the Intro Quiz tomorrow.
Friday- In Class: Turn in Conversions hw, Take the Intro Quiz (NB#6), Go over the SI System notes and practice measuring (NB#7), Do the Four Branches of Earth Science (NB#8) Homework: Complete the Four Branches if necessary, Study for Quiz Monday on the SI System and the Four Branches of Earth Science
Week of August 31-September 4
Monday- In Class: Went over the Four Branches homework, Finish the measuring activity, Formative Assessment #1 on Intro material, Intro Quiz #2 (NB#9), work on the Density Lab (NB#10), Begin the Mapping notes (NB#11) Homework: Complete the Density Lab
Tuesday- In Class:Turn in the Density Lab, Go over the Mapping notes (NB#11) using the Mapping PowerPoint Begin the Latitude/Longitude Packet (NB#12) Homework: Complete the Latitude/Longitude handout
Wednesday- In Class: Turn in the Latitude/longitude homework, Topographic Map Lab (NB#13), Get the Time Zones worksheet (NB#14)- we didn't have time to start on it Homework: Study for the Mapping Quiz tomorrow
Thursday- In Class: Mapping Quiz (NB#15), Go over Time Zone notes and the Time Zones worksheet (NB#14), Go over Topographic map notes and symbols (NB#16), Some students began the Marion Map Activity(NB#17) Homework: Finish time zones if needed, some may begin Mapping Review, Mapping test will most likely be on Wednesday
Friday- In Class: Marion Map & Raleigh West Map Activity(NB#17), Time to begin working on Mapping review sheet (NB#18) Homework:Work on Mapping Review, Mapping test will be Wednesday

Vesuvius pictures, We looked at a map of recent earthquakes online, Begin Earthquake notes (NB#35) with the Earthquakes/Layers/Faults PowerPoint, 3rd period began the Eq. in NC Activity (NB#36) Homework:Notebook Check on Wednesday, Interims will be this week and the Quarter Project will be assigned, 4th period- do the back of the notes
Tuesday- In Class: Continued with Earthquake notes and PowerPoint, All classes completed the the Eq. in NC Activity (NB#36), Took notes on the Tsunami Video (NB#37) Homework:Notebook Check on tomorrow, Print out Interims & get them signed, the Quarter Project will be assigned later this week, 3rd period- do the back of the notes
