Hello and Welcome to Physical Science! This is the page you should come to to keep updated on what is going on in class, to find useful links, and to get more science info if I don't give you enough in class. Week of 8/20/01: Remember S.U.R.P.- Bring a book or you can read one of mine. Also remember to get a spiral notebook for your Science Journal. Tuesday: S.U.R.P first... then Review the Gardner's Intelligence you tested for in class and think about how you can make this work to your benefit. Read pages 5-11 in the textbook. Worksheet "Science is Everywhere" is due on Wednesday. Wednesday: You need your journal today! After class you should be able to identify the steps of the scientific method and describe them in order. Read pages 13-17 in the textbook. Thursday: S.U.R.P. Day. You will get a good idea of what critical thinking is and how to use it. This is another tool for you to use in making your learning and more effective. You should be able to compare and contrast the terms hypothesis, theory, and law. When you compare things- you are describing what is similar about them; when you contrast things- you are describing what is different. For homework to day, read pages 10-19 in your textbook, do worksheet called "Finding Out", and prepare for the quiz on Friday. Friday: Journaling Day, then a quiz over the week's material. Finish your special effects cartoon over the weekend if you don't finish it in class, do the worksheet called "Special Effects", and read pages 20-25 in your textbook. Have a safe weekend!
