The Guidance Dept. will keep this section updated as much as we can. Students are still encouraged to listen to the announcements (also available on ParentPortal!) for scholarship information.
Local scholarship information will be distributed to students as it is received. The majority will be handed out to students early second semester during a senior class meeting. Linked below is a spreadsheet of local scholarships. Information is subject to change.
An important note about scholarships- SHS students are eligible for scholarships from a variety of sources.
National level scholarhips from corporations such as Best Buy and Burger King. These can be found online or in the guidance office.
County level scholarships- Boone County residents can apply for scholarships through the Community Foundation of Boone County (CFBC), and through Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF) if there is not a Hamilton county residency requirement. Hamilton County residents are eligible to apply for scholarships through CICF.
Sheridan scholarships such as the Larry Hobbs and Mary Goodknight Burkhardt are offered through the Sheridan Community Schools Foundation. Other local scholarships are available for all SHS students such as the Lions Club, Kiwanis and Jeanne Cornell.
The Biddle Memorial Foundation Scholarship (linked below) is a wonderful opportunity for our students planning to attend Ivy Tech next year. It is a renewable scholarship that could be worth up to a full year's tution over two years. It does have a slightly different process to apply, so read all the instructions carefully.
