Reading Read for fifteen minutes every night and summarize in the reading notebook. I am checking summaries every few weeks. I have also added a new piece of nightly homework; students will be completing a Language Arts handout.
Students can do a book report on an appropriate form to earn tickets to a celebrity raffle.
English We are writing daily about American history, and practicing grammar. Spelling is included with the English grade.
Social Studies We are learning about the progress of America. We discussed what happened to the Native Americans, Pioneers, and immigrants as a result.We just got done learning about the Industrial Age after the Civil War and all the cool inventions of the early 1900s. Students completed a file folder report. We also debate and problem solve current issues like war.
