Course Description
This is a Self contained Special Education class.
Class Expectations
Students will participate in class, try assignments to the best of their ability, and keep hands, feet and bad comments to themself.
Weekly Objectives
In English, students will continue to complete a daily story that will reinforce punctuation, capitalization, grammar, spelling, reading, school news, and fine motor writing skills. Students are continually reading in the appropriate reading books. All students are working on SOL test readiness along with group reading on their level.
Math classes are working on their individual math objectives along with SOL test readiness in a group setting. All students are learning how to use the SOL approved calculator.
In 6th and 7th grade science students are learning about the Earth and how to make it a better place with recycling and reusing. Students will take what is learned home to try and help with making the Earth better. In 8th grade science students are learning about animal adaptations.
In Social Studies all students are learning about capitals and states.
On Wednesday, Mrs. Petterson will be here to work with us on our "Seed to Supper" project. We have many questions to ask her.
Discipline
Students will continue to be rewarded with stickers when completing assignments, behaving correctly, helping others, have respectful attitiudes, and do what is asked the first time.
All students have a chance to make up their incompleted assignments during Friday reward time.
