Our cadets get to participate many activities that normal students don't get to do. They go rappelling, camping, flying, drown-proofing, and one and two rope bridges. All of these activites are voluntary but few cadets refuse and many go on to join our Venture Crew which gives them even more opportunities to partake in adventure training.
DROWN-PROOFING
Cadets learn important life-saving skills about water survival. They learn how to make expedient flotation devices out of clothing, water entry techniques, as well as taking a swimming profiency test.
FIRST FLIGHT
Our cadets receive the opportunity to fly for the very first time in a Cessna-172, as part of Sullivan South High School's JROTC First Flight program at the Tri-Cities airport. Three cadets at a time fly with Air Force LtCol. Powley and one cadet out of the group will actually get to co-pilot the plane.
