Mission Statement
The mission of John S. Battle High School Library is to promote active learning and ensure that students and staff have the skills to access, evaluate and use information. The library is to be an integral part of the instructional program providing the best resources and services to students, faculty and staff.

Policies and Procedures
Students may use the library before and after school. The library is also available for use during study halls with a limit of 3 from any one class. They must have school work to do at this time. The library is available for classes during any period of the day. Teachers must reserve the library by signing up at the circulation desk and will remain with the students during the class. Library orientation is available to any teacher upon request. Please give the librarian advanced notice. Books are checked out to students for two weeks at a time with a limit of 2. They may renew the books if there is not a hold placed on them. Reference books are to remain in the library for research. Computers are intended for research and class work and educational purposes. Students need to sign out a computer at the circulation desk.

eLibrary Offers more than 1,500 full-text sources, with improved functionality, and a fun and easy-to-use search interface. Includes magazines, newspapers, books, television/radio transcripts, maps, pictures, and audio/video clips.

netTrekker classic is an  academic search engine that provides fast and easy access to more than 180,000 educator-selected online resources.

Thomson Gale Databases provide access to full text magazine, newspaper, and journal articles; reference books; primary documents; and link s to websites.  The databases are grouped by subject and level. The following are some of the available resources:  Science Resource Center, Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center, Expanded Academic ASAP, InfoTrac OneFile, Contemporary Literary Criticism, etc.

The Old Farmer's Almanac. Tide tables, sunrise tables, a farm, recipes , kitchen, and weather forecasts.
