Hello, and welcome to English 9. Throughout the course of the semester, students will study a broad variety of literature from different cultures and time periods. As we study the different varieties of literature, we will also focus on literary analysis through written narrative, descriptive, and expository essays. In addition, students will write on various other topics and prompts as we prepare for the English 10 SOL that they will take next year. I encourage every student to report to class each and every day with the appropriate materials and most importantly, an open mind that is eager to learn. I know this is going to be an exciting year as we explore the world around us!
Materials
1. Three-ring binder with dividers
2. Notebook paper
3. Blue or black ink pens and one red grading pen
4. Small flash drive (2GB will be sufficient).
5. Colored pencils
