READING
I am seeing some great reading records !! Many students are reading every night AND week-ends too ! We will be reading a lot about dinosaurs in the next few weeks. A trip to the library for some dinosaur books might be a fun treat.
MATH
Math facts are so important and really require memorization. I know it's hard but it makes two digit addition and subtraction faster and easier. We are just finishing our unit on investigating three-digit numbers.
Hundreds are fun to work with !
Our next math unit is revisiting "using money". Students will be working with mixed groups of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. If this is a difficult skill for your child please practice at home, at the store, make different combinations for lunch money, or just take a handful of coins and count them. Have fun !
SCIENCE
They've arrived!! Our dinosaur unit has officially begun. Our class has been looking forward to this unit for a while. ( so has their teacher !!!) We have prepared our
paleontologist bags and will be ready to do some on site work soon. We will be studying about fossils, the earth then and now , and about many, many different dinosaurs.
More information will be sent home as we become more involved in our study of these interesting and exciting creatures !!
