Our "Learning is a treasure..." bulletin board has many gems on it. When a student demonstrates, on his or her own, one of the schoolwide Student Learning Expectations, has a flash of inspiration and sees things in a different way, or makes some deep connections with his or her learning, it constitutes a "gemworthy" moment. Ask your son or daughter about our bulletin board.
8B Homeroom
*As Life Long Learners, it is important that our students can "identify their own strengths, needs, goals, and progress." Students have set new AR goals for 2nd quarter.
*8B's Accelerated Reader class goal for the 2nd quarter is 713.5 points and 90% accuracy in comprehension.
*As of November 7th, our class has 353 points towards our goal.
8th Grade Social Studies
*We have just finished talking about the Election and the Electoral College.
*The students participated in the Kids Voting on Tuesday.
*We are continuing to look at issues that are important to America, as we move into a study of the U.S. Government.
7th Grade Social Studies
*We have just finished talking about the Election and the Electoral College.

*We are continuing to look at issues that are important to America, and then we will dive back into U.S. history with the Civil War and Reconstruction.
8th Grade 6+1 Traits of Writing
*Next week students will be building a world in the sand. We will photograph those worlds, and then they will be the prompt for the next story they will be writing.
