Today we began the season of Advent. The children enjoyed making their own Advent wreath to take home. We were also writing about how we can prepare for the coming of Jesus in our hearts.

The children have been given the name of a nun from the R.S.H.M. order. This is the order of nuns that used to teach here and now live in New York. We will be writing letters and making small items for our Prayer Partners throughout the year.

The TerraNova test dates have been changed. Please do not make any doctor appointments or any vacation plans during that week. The dates are March 27-April 3.

The children enjoyed our speaker from The Virginia Historical Society yesterday. He brought many items and was very informative. I hope the children came home with lots of information to share.

We started reading the Amelia Bedelia books by Peggy Parish. The children are enjoying these stories.

Please remember that when your child is absent from school we need a note from you when he returns.
