This web site is designed for use by Latin 4 and AP students. Use the practice activities and quizzes to prepare for your weekly assignments. Check the accompanying links for other available resources. For those students taking AP Latin Literature next year, the following supplementary materials are highly recommended for individual purchase: Fall semester: An Ovid Workbook by Jestin & Katz ISBN: 978-0-86516-625-7 Ovid Vocabulary Cards for AP Selections by LaFleur & Tillery ISBN: 978-0-86516-657-8 Spring semester: A Catullus Workook by Dettmer & Osburn ISBN: 978-0-86516-623-3 Catullus Vocabulary Cards for AP Selections ISBN: 978-0-86516-653-0 All these books are available through Bolchazy-Carducci Publishers, Inc. www.bolchazy.com You can check to see if they are also available through Amazon, but they are relatively new books. The best book for each author is the Workbook. It contains all the poems in the AP syllabus as well as practice essays, translations, grammar reviews and mult. choice questions. The Vocabulary Cards books have cardstock cards to punch out, a complete vocabulary list, and a great grammar review section. If any student wishes to sign out the assigned textbook to look over it and get a head start before fall, I'll be happy to sign them out. For additional reading I recommend the following: research info regarding the lives of Ovid and Catullus and the historical time period in which they lived; also a familiarity with classical mythology from a source such as Edith Hamilton's Mythology. E-mail me with any other questions.
