Welcome to Mr. Kincade's 10th grade web page. I am very interested in assisting each of you as you grow and learn more about literature, writing and critical thinking. As we progress through the text book and other novels, we will encounter many different learning opportunities that are fun, but may also be controversial in nature. Please remember to respect the opinions of others in the classroom and help make it a good learning environment with an atmosphere that is open to new ideas. Throughout the year we will be preparing for the English Writing SOLs that was just moved to the 10th grade. It is made up of two tests that you will begin taking early spring semester. Attendance and preparedness is mandatory and essential to your success. Come ready to learn each day and willing to think about new and interesting ideas, concepts and even beliefs from various cultures. I believe learning can be a fun and cooperative experience, and look forward to an exciting year.

For students who need further preparation for upcoming SAT tests I have put together word lists and crossword puzzles with vocabulary words that will help to prepare you for the SAT exam. These can be downloaded from the Moodle page and printed out, or you can open them in a web browser and complete them on the computer. Select from the list on the Moodle page which of these formats you would like to use.
