Welcome to Algebra! I'll post your homework assignments and upcoming events on a weekly basis.

SEE CALENDAR FOR ASSIGNMENTS.

GRADING POLICY

You'll have 1000 possible points every nine weeks to be distributed as follows:

20 quizzes at 25 points each =500 points
(this includes graded assignments)
3 tests at 100 points each =300 points
20 hw checks at 5 points =100 points
(1st half of 9 wks)
20 hw checks at 5 points = 100 points
(2nd half of 9 wks)

FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF: 1000 points

The good news is that you get 100 points the first day of the nine weeks for homework. Each time you don't have it, I subtract 5. (You'll get another 100 at mid-9 weeks.)
I have a "NO EXCUSES" homework policy that works well. If you have your homework, you keep the points; if you don't, I take the points. It's very simple.

ex. At the end of the nine weeks, Fido had 924 points out of 1000. According to the county grading policy, a 92.4% is a B. He was mad because he didn't have his homework once and those 5 points would have bumped him to a 929 out of 1000. Using the "rule of 5", a 92.9 becomes a 93% A. What a shame!
