HOW TO USE THIS WEB SITE !!
This web site is designed to be a supplemental support tool for AP Government students , not a replacement for being in class. The site contains access to course information , tools , some critical exams , study guides and review activities . Please review the requirements , procedures , and recommendations below :
1. It is recommended that students review the course perspective / overview , national and state United States government academic standards , as well as the class rules and policies via the syllabus . Click on the links below under " Course Resources " to view the PDF files .
2. Study schedule planning by reviewing the calendar events section below . The upcoming events for the week are listed . For longer term planning , and to view events on a monthly basis , click on the " view calendar " icon in the web site title bar at the upper left corner of this web site .
3. Students must take the
Weekly Current Event Exam via this web site. The Weekly Current Event Exam will be posted every Saturday morning by 12 noon and will remain accessable until the following Monday at 10 PM. When posted, the Weekly Current Event Exam will be found at the top of the " Quia Activities " section below. IMPORTANT !!!! Current event topics will be taken from five key sources ; National Public Radio ( www.npr.org ) , CNBC ( www.cnbc.com ) , BusinessWeek ( www.businessweek.com ) , Time ( www.time.com ) , and Reason ( www.reason.com ) . Links to articles and stories relating to many of the important issues of the week can be found below in the " Useful Links " section of this web site. These links will stay listed on the web site until 10 AM on Saturday mornings.
4. Students can verify information on chapter study guides and prepare for chapter and semester final exams by reviewing chapter powerpoint presentations ( in PDF format ) that will be posted to this web site 24 hours prior to scheduled chapter exams. The presentations will remain accessable on this web site up to semester finals. To review a chapter powerpoint presentation click on the link below under " Chapter Powerpoint Presentation Links " to view the PDF file.
5. Reviewing for chapter exams by playing Government Jeopardy ( see the " Quia Activities And Quizzes " section below where they are listed as " Challenge Board " games ) . These activities are valuable study tools that will be posted at least 48 hours prior to the chapter exam they are related to . Sign in to play the jeopardy game the same way you sign in to take a chapter exam . Your " user name " is ( without a space between them ) , your proper / formal first name , followed by your last name , followed by the number 871 . Your password is your Kofa student ID number . One very important thing to remember is that if you do not sign in to play the game , then you can not prove that you used this very valuable study tool .
