We will return to algebra in chapter 7 as we look at solving equations once again. In this chapter, we will be solving equations that are a little more difficult than we have done in the past. We will have more than one operation to undo, we will have to combine like terms, and we will have a variable on both sides of the equal sign. We will also look at word problems and learn how to represent our unknowns with variables and algebraic expressions. Then we will solve these applications using our new knowledge of solving algebraic equations.
