Seventhth Grade TAKS Enrichment
Welcome! Seventh Graders will be getting ready for their TAKS tests which they will take in February and April.
We are spending some time getting ready for the Reading and Math TAKS tests by learning new vocabulary and reviewing academic language that is seen on the tests.
We will learn 10 new academic words a week, which will be tested weekly. We are also keeping a journal throughout the year to monitor our progress in learning to express our ideas.
Students should complete Reading Fluency practice stories by Thursday of each week with a responsible adult. It should be signed by the student and reading partner, then turned in on Friday. This may seem a little unusual, but it has been proven that reading aloud improves the ease with which a student can read. When reading is easier, understanding is easier too!!
