Welcome to our class page! 02/04/02 This week we will be doing some listening comprehension exercises in preparation for the ELA exam. In addition, we will be starting our next short story this week. As a reminder for anyone who has still not turned in their signed ELA letter to me, PLEASE TURN IT IN! With that out of the way, here's what's on the agenda this week: MONDAY: 2.04.02 1/2 DAY- Assembly *** P.S. I was very pleased to see how well you behaved during the assembly. You should give yourselves a pat on the back for a job well done! TUESDAY: 2.05.02 IN CLASS: ELA listening comprehension passages, graphic organizer, two short written responses, one extended response. HW: None! WEDNESDAY: 2.06.02 IN CLASS: If necessary, continue work on listening comprehension exercises, notes on comedy (if time allows). HW: Read p. 56-59 in textbook THURSDAY: 2.07.02 IN CLASS: Finish notes on comedy,discussion of last night's reading, receive vocab sheet for "The Ransom of Red Chief", begin in class reading. HW: Start reading "The Ransom of Red Chief" by O. Henry on p. 66 in textbook, look up vocabulary definitions FRIDAY: 2.08.02 IN CLASS: Review student answers using rubrics from listening comprehension questions, review correct vocabulary definitions, discuss vocab and story HW: Finish reading "The Ransom of Red Chief" (Quickie Quiz on Wednesday), make vocab flashcards/ study sheet Have a great weekend. ~Ms. K
