CNA FACT SHEET FOR TELEMETRY EQUIPMENT (read info and take quiz)

--Telemetry monitors should not be taken off patients unless instructed by the nurse.

--When checking lead placement, pressing the check mark on the telemetry unit can assist in finding a lead that is not attached or is malfunctioning.

--It is the nurses', NOT THE CNAS', responsibility to do the initial placement of the telemetry monitor on the patient.

--When placing leads on the patient it may be helpful to cleanse the skin, use skin prep, or shave hair from the area.

--Lead wires should be placed in the EASI mode on the telemetry monitor.
