EASI Lead placement CNA FACT SHEET FOR TELEMETRY EQUIPMENT (read info and take quiz) --Telemetry monitors should not be taken off patients unless instructed by the nurse. --When checking lead placement, pressing the check mark on the telemetry unit can assist in finding a lead that is not attached or is malfunctioning. --It is the nurses', NOT THE CNAS', responsibility to do the initial placement of the telemetry monitor on the patient. --When placing leads on the patient it may be helpful to cleanse the skin, use skin prep, or shave hair from the area. --Lead wires should be placed in the EASI mode on the telemetry monitor.
