Lesson Plans for May 14-18 Theatre I: Students will continue with characterization study through watching video and viewing the process by which the dialogue is brought to life and the stage through character development. This will continue both Tuesday and Thursday. (Tuesday) Students will continue preparation for monologue with various characterization activities in class, as well as visual instruction from video examples. (Thursday) Theatre II: Students will make preparations for a performance that will be presented in honor of the teachers for the end of school. Students will utilize original writing and stories and poems from others as well as songs in preparing the script. This will continue until it is completed. The students will bring their play sets, costumes, and playbill for presentation to the rest of the class. (Monday) Students will continue preparation for the end of school production prepared for the teacher's luncheon on June 1. Additionally the students will present their set design, a play synopsis, costume design, and playbill to the rest of the class. (Wednesday) Students will continue preparation for the end of school production prepared for the teacher's luncheon on June 1. (Friday) Theatre III: Students will begin working on an end of school production for the teachers which will be done collaboratively with the second year theatre students. Students will present their play synopsis, set design, costume design, and playbill to the rest of the class. Students will continue working on the end of school performance for the teacher's luncheon along with the Theatre II class. (Monday-Friday) Speech: Students will be prepared to deliver their extemporaneous speeches that they researched last week. They will have an introduction, a set-up, examples with personal application, and a conclusion. (Monday) Students will finish up their extemporaneous speeches if necessary. Students will take a test over specialized speeches. Overview of oral interpretation in preparation for the final presentation. Examples from former students will be viewed to give students an idea of what they should do for their own presentations.(Wednesday) Students will continue with oral interpretation and work on cutting texts from poems and literary works. Worksheets with this skill will be used. (Friday) ESL: We will be working on reading skills and vocabulary with the ESL workbook. (Tuesday and Thursday) Broadcast Journalism: Students will film announcements daily, and then they will use the rest of the period to work on their news stories they were assigned for broadcast this week. They also need to be working on their senior remembrances which will also be aired over the next couplke of weeks. (Tuesday and Thursday)
