This page has links to web sites for parents, colleagues, and students to use to gain an understanding for the needs of the students, which the Life Skills Support curriculum must address.

Education World: This is an excellent resource for parents. Once you are on the home page, click on the "Special Education" section. This site has links to resources, explanation of the laws and IDEA, definitions of terms, links to support groups and organizations, programs, and many more topics to search through.
Bedford County Technical Center: This site explains the Transition Program and School-to-Work program. When you go to the home page, click on the section "Student Support Services". "Special Needs Education" provides information about Transition Planning and the Transition Coordinator. "Career Counselor" provides information about the School-To-Work program.
Pennsylvania Parents and Caregivers Resource Network's: News and Resources: This site would be helpful to faculty and parents. The faculty would benefit from the information given on Community Based Instruction and Transition Planning. An understanding of what the students needs are allows the faculty to be an active member of the IEP team and an effective teacher of the curriculum. The parents would benefit form the same information; and the links to other organizations and parent support groups. Being in touch with other parents of children with special needs would be an excellent resource for parents.
Curriculum Designers, Inc.: This site is a resource for the faculty to use to keep updated on curriculum mapping. The curriculum for the Life Skills Support program is done in a mapping format.
Pennsylvania Department of Education: Special Education: This site is about the Pennsylvania Alternate System of Assessment (PASA). Faculty and parents have access to the following information.
