ANNOTATING TEXT
- GlossMaker will take a block of text (with or without HTML) and allow you to put [brackets] around words you want to gloss or annotate. After you define the words that have been chosen (supply definitions for them), several pages are created: edit page and text area page.
- DictoMaker creates a series of frames based page that use an online dictionary to automatically "gloss" your text. Students highlight a word, it's transferred to a dictionary and it looks up the word automatically. This is an incredibly simple maker which will literally take 30 seconds if your text is prepared.
Currently works with French, Spanish, Chinese, Italian, and German.
STUDENT INPUT
- ClozeMaker will take a block of text (with or without HTML) and allow you to put [brackets] around words you want to cloze or use as a fill-in-the-blank answer. This script creates two pages: edit page and exercise page.
- EvalMaker will take two blocks of text (questions and answers) and create an exercise that a student can use to evaluate his or her own answers. This form allows you to include language-specific title, instructions, and a media file. It creates two pages: edit page and exercise page.
- MatchMaker allows you to create a matching exercise in two columns. Students provide letters in blanks. Incorrect answers are erased and they can try again. Customizable feedback. Creates an edit page and an exercise page.
- MultiMaker allows you to enter as many multiple choice questions in an exercise as you like. This "maker" does not create an edit page. Include your own title, instructions and individualized feedback for each answer.
DHTML MAKERS
- MatchMaker 2 allows you to create a DHMTL matching exercises where the student drags an image to the appropriate word.
- OrderMaker allows you to create a DHMTL sentence order exercise. Students need to drag segments of a sentence into place and build the sentence.
The current major drawback is that this maker requires a sentence with at least three parts. That means that the sentence you use must have at least three words so each of the text layers will be used.
- OrderMaker2 allows you to create a DHMTL sentence order exercise. Students need to drag segments of a sentence into place and build the sentence and they have to fill in the blanks using clues from you on tiles of your choice.
The current major drawback is that this maker requires a sentence with at least three parts. That means that the sentence you use must have at least three words so each of the text layers will be used..
- PlaceMaker3 allows you to create a DHMTL vocabulary exercise where students drag appropriate vocabulary into the same venues as the PlaceMaker or your own image. In this one, they have to place the word in the appropriate location in the image.
Current venues: Suitcase, Briefcase, Living Room, Kitchen, Bedroom, Office, Table, Woman, Man, Hospital, Airport, Train Station, Automobile, and Shopping Cart.
- PlaceMaker allows you to create a DHMTL vocabulary exercise where students drag appropriate vocabulary into, say, a suitcase or a kitchen. It is a true or false exercise -- not all the vocabulary is appropriate to the venue presented.
