TMT TEST on chanpters 3 & 4 on Wednesday--begin reviewing chapters 3 & 4.

Wednesday and Thursday, April 29 and April 30--Read ch. 3 TMT, answer GRQ given to you in class, due 5/1.

April 28--Study your notes and drawings for chapters 1 and 2 of TMT--TEST TOMORROW!

April 27--Draw simple cartoon illustrations (stick-figures o.k.) with detailed labels of the following: Copper Man, Basket Maker, Scythian king, steps to making tsantsa, Chinese lady's grave

April 24--No New Homework this weekend. If you get the chance, try to watch the National Geographic special "Waking the Baby Mammoth" on Sunday evening, April 26th at 9:00 PM. Check out the link to the National Geographic website at the bottom of this page. Make sure to bring in any missing homework on Monday.

April 22--Earth Day--Write about your nature experiences on Earth Day--a poem, a paragraph, your choice of form. Assignment will be due on Friday


This is a photograph of the famous baby mammoth mummy, Dima. The picture was taken in Helsinki, Finland, when Dima's remains were on loan from Russia.

When Russia hosts the winter Olympics in 2014, some Russians believe Dima should be the official mascot for the games. This picture shows what the logo might look like:

Martin Niemoller was a German pastor born in 1892. Because Niemoller was an anti-Communist, at first he supported Hitler's rise to power. But when Hitler insisted on the supremacy of the state over religion, Niemoller became the leader of a group of German clergymen opposed to Hitler. Hitler personally detested Niemoller and had him arrested and eventually confined in a concentration camp. His famous poem was published in a 1955 book. The text below is translated from the original German.

"In Germany, they came first for the Communists,
