Welcome to Mrs. Nicholas's
Fundamentals of the Catholic Faith class for Freshman!
I am looking forward to this year with the Freshman class! I hope you find this introductory course in religion at Saint Viator to be useful, informative and even FUN, at least sometimes! It is my prayer that we will all grow in our faith in God this year as we share, discuss and reflect together. Wednesday 5/15 through Monday 5/21: Students will present small group projects on the Creed.

For Monday, May 7: Notes for Changing Lanes due. We will complete a reflection in class.
For Wednesday, May 9: "Americans Who Tell the Truth" excersise due. Students will go to website for "Americanswhotellthetruth.org" and write a 2 paragraph response after learning about one person fromt the site.
For Thursday, May 10: Complete binder pages 92-93 based on reading in article on binder pages 88- 91, " What's Wrong with Lying and Cheating"

We are watching the movie, "Changing Lanes" in class Wednesday - Friday. Students are responsible for the notes sheet they will be using as they watch the movie.. It will be collected at the end of the movie with a reflection on the movie.

January 17 to 23: The Beatitudes: We will read two assignments in class and discuss this week. Students should work on their Covey essays at home.
Covey essay due Tuesday, January 24. This is a five paragraph essay. Rubric given in class.

For Friday, , Dec. 16: 1. Read Text pgs 189 -192. 2. Write one paragraph in which Describe what it woud be like to go to Anointing of the Sick. Make sure to answer these questions in your paragraph: Why would I receive this sacrament? Where is it received? How is it received (list the steps.)
Monday, Dec. 19: In class: Read the article "Just forgive" Fill out crossword puzzle. Crossword will be homework if not completed in class.
